In this article, I'm going to compare two popular meal replacement shakes on the market - LYFE Fuel vs. 310 Nutrition.
As a nutritionist who tracks macros, meal replacement shakes (or protein shakes) can be a great way to hit your macro numbers for the day.
I don't think meal replacement shakes like 310 Nutrition and LYFE FUEL should be used to literally replace your meals, but if used properly, they can be great.
What are the hot takes of LYFE Fuel and 310 Nutrition? How are they similar? What makes them different? And, which one is better for you?
I'll answer these questions and share my experiences, having covering supplements for over 5 years. Remember to pair your shakes with a healthy diet and exercise program!
Let's start with The Hot Takes!
The Hot Takes of LYFE Fuel Vs. 310 Nutrition
About LYFE Fuel
Encouraging you to live your fullest every day, LYFE Fuel has created their Daily Essentials Nutrition Meal Replacement Shake to provide you with more energy, improve your mood, fill nutritional gaps that exist within your diet and support your weight loss journey. While the nutritional profile seems very inconsistent to me, there are a lot of essential nutrients such as vitamins A, C, D, E and K. Unfortunately, you’ll have to review the nutritional label closely if there’s a specific nutrient that you’re trying to control your intake of. Some ingredients provide you with well over your daily recommended allowance (such as B12). There are other nutrients that come in well below the recommended amount.
LYFE Fuel is based on proprietary blends like an organic greens blend, a digestive enzyme blend and a probiotic blend. Each blend contains pure and natural ingredients such as alfalfa, sour cherry, blueberry, strawberry, cabbage and spirulina. The LYFE Fuel brand manufactures all of its products at an FDA-registered facility, using third-party testing to ensure quality. A special manufacturing process is used to help protect the nutritional composition of each individual ingredient.
What I Like
- There are a lot of different nutrients in each serving, thanks to minimally processed ingredients.
- There are a number of health claims made by the LYFE Fuel brand, such as an increase in energy, improved digestion, better quality sleep and healthy hair, skin and nails.
- Very high in protein (18 grams in each serving), from sources such as oat grass, pea protein, wheatgrass and brown rice powder.
- There is a substantial savings of 20 percent off when you subscribe for ongoing deliveries. You also receive free shipping with your order.
- All of the ingredients in LYFE Fuel’s meal replacement shakes are made using a precise drying process that carefully removes water from the whole foods utilized. This is chemical-free and very safe.
What I Don’t Like
- LYFE Fuel meal replacement shakes are a bit deficient in certain trace minerals.
- Iron is provided by way of certain whole-food ingredients, but absorption is questionable because you may lack the other nutrients required to properly utilize the iron.
- This is an expensive product, priced at $74.90 for a 24-serving bag.
About 310
310 Shake provides a meal replacement product that is full of nutritionally complete superfoods. The brand claims that their product can be used to support immune health, digestion and whole-body health. Very low in calories and containing less than 10 grams of carbohydrates in each serving, 310 Nutrition comes in a variety of flavors to keep things new and exciting. You can also stick with their basic vanilla variety if you’re someone who likes simplicity or you want to mix your shake with other ingredients.
The products that are part of the 310 Nutrition line are very wholesome and safe. The brand strives to keep things very simple, avoiding chemicals, fillers and other unnecessary ingredients. This is also an organic, plant-based and non-GMO product.

What I Like
- The discount for subscribing to regular deliveries is 25%, which is pretty substantial.
- You have a lot of flavor options available.
- Each serving contains 26 different essential nutrients.
- The company has been around for over eight years.
What I Don’t Like
- 310 Nutrition recommends that you replace two of your meals with their shakes in order to fully support weight loss. Since each serving is only about 110 calories, you might end up feeling hungry. This can compromise your weight loss success if you’re trying to snack or overeat at other meals to compensate.
- At just under $60 for only 14 servings, this is definitely one of the more expensive meal replacement products I’ve seen.
- Contains stevia.
- For a brand that’s been around for a number of years, they don’t have a lot of customer reviews listed on the 310 Nutrition website.

Comparing Formulas
One of the best ways to compare two products such as these would be to look at their labels and ingredients side by side. Looking at both 310 Nutrition meal replacement shakes and LYFE Fuel, there seem to be more whole food ingredients that are included in 310 Nutrition meal replacement shakes. LYFE Fuel has proprietary blends that are chock full of things like spirulina, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, alfalfa, wheatgrass, barley grass and broccoli.
310 Nutrition includes many of the same ingredients that are in LYFE Fuel’s shake, but with other unique inclusions like goji berry, carrot root, chia seeds, functional mushrooms, artichoke and kale.
Unfortunately, both brands don’t do a good job at breaking down how much of each ingredient is included in each serving of their product. LYFE Fuel at least provides you with the measurement for each proprietary blend, whereas 310 Nutrition keeps things very general.
Comparing Taste
LYFE Fuel only provides you with chocolate and vanilla chai flavor options. Some people in the reviews questioned why the brand opted for a chai variety of vanilla, instead of keeping it basic. Otherwise, the reviews express that people enjoy the flavor of these meal replacement shakes.
310 Nutrition appears to have a gritty of a texture to it, even after attempting to mix it for a bit. A lot of people tackle this problem with a small frother, which can help blend everything together much better. Because of the functional mushrooms in 310 Nutrition meal replacement shakes, you might notice an earthy flavor to your shakes. Some flavors may be more noticeable than others. Options include:
- Cookies N’ Cream
- Strawberry
- Caramel Sundae
- Vanilla Crème
- Chocolate Bliss
- Tropical Coconut
- Horchata
Comparing Pricing and Cost
Both LYFE Fuel and 310 Nutrition have pricey products. You can purchase one bag of product for $74.90. That’s a one-time purchase and only includes 24 servings. You can save 20% per purchase and secure free shipping if you sign up for their subscription service.
310 Nutrition’s meal replacement shakes are priced at $59.99 for a one-time purchase of 14 servings. As I mentioned, their percentage off for subscriptions is 25%, which is one of the highest discounts I’ve seen.
LYFE Fuel ends up working out to about $3.12 per meal, while 310 Nutrition is $4.28 per meal when you’re purchasing one bag at a time. While this may sound affordable compared to going out and picking up an actual meal at your favorite restaurant, you’re getting a very minimal amount of calories for these price points.
Other Meal Replacement Shakes Besides 310 and LYFE Fuel
Looking for a different meal replacement shake option that provides better value or a different nutritional composition? Let’s compare 310 Nutrition and LYFE Fuel with some of their competitors.
Level-1 by 1st Phorm
This meal replacement protein powder by 1st Phorm comes in a lot of different unique flavors, such as Blueberry Muffin, Ice Cream Sandwich, Red Velvet Cake and Chocolate Marshmallow. Each serving contains 24 grams of protein from a specially designed protein matrix of whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate and milk protein concentrate. Unfortunately, these shakes are based on protein composition and don’t include a lot of whole food ingredients.
Ka’Chava
The Ka’Chava complete meal shake contains 24 grams of protein in each serving as well as 40 grams of other essential nutrients such as fiber, greens, omegas, antioxidants, adaptogens and probiotics. It’s designed to help you cut calories while also addressing your cravings thanks to a precise blend of protein, fiber and essential fats. It’s also one of the cleanest meal replacement products on the market right now.

Main Differences between 310 and LYFE Fuel
310 Nutrition has included a lot of nutrients and potentially beneficial ingredients in their meal replacement shakes, but they’re not broken down into blends. They seem very randomly included. I can’t deny the benefits of many of these ingredients, but we don’t know if there are enough to make a difference in your health. Exact amounts would be nice. LYFE Fuel doesn’t give exact amounts, but they do break their product down into individual proprietary blends so you understand a little more of what’s included.
Also, LYFE Fuel doesn’t include adaptogens in their product. If you’re looking for a meal replacement shake that will help you cut calories, increase protein intake and support a healthy metabolism, adaptogens might be the last thing on your mind. Especially if you’re prone to feeling very relaxed from their intake, you probably don’t want to be consuming them when you’re getting ready to work out.
Which is Better: LYFE Fuel or 310?
Both LYFE Fuel and 310 provide you with 110 calories per serving. They also have similar protein amounts and provide many of the same nutrients. However, 310 Nutrition definitely seems to have a larger profile of healthy ingredients included in its formulation. LYFE Fuel breaks their formula down into proprietary blends, but the actual list of what’s included definitely seems shorter than 310’s inclusions. Both have similar price points, but I do like that LYFE Fuel has very specific blends that target things like digestive health. You know you’re getting your greens from their greens blend, plenty of nutrients from the super berry blend, and so on. 310 Nutrition could do a bit better by grouping their ingredients and explaining why they’re included.
