Let's be real... menopause sucks! Sometimes, it can feel like it's destroying your life. I'm not in that phase of my life just yet, but I have plenty of older friends that let me know how bad their hot flashes at night are, unexpected weight gain in the midsection area, and other classic menopause symptoms as well.
Good thing there are over the counter menopause relief supplements out there, like Bonafide Relizen and Provitalize by Better Body. Now, these aren't the end-all, be-all. If you really read all the unbiased reviews, they work for some women, but it's not 100%.
I'm going to compare and contrast Relizen Vs. Provitalize. I've been covering menopause supplements for a few years now, so I know what to look for and how to compare each product together. I do, however, recommend you speak with your doctor before taking menopause supplements.
Let's start with The Hot Takes!
The Hot Takes
Bonafide Relizen at a Glance
Relizen is made by the brand Bonafide. It is made using the active ingredient powdered pollen extract. This is an established product from an established brand. Relizen has actually been around for decades with various names; Serelys, Femal and Pure CyTonin. Bonafide Health claims that Relizen can help with menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, changes in mood, fatigue, sleep issues and weight gain.
Unfortunately, there’s not a substantial amount of data that explains how this specific form of pollen can support the body and mind through menopause. It is suspected that there is a link between these pure, plant-based ingredients and serotonin production. This formula is also high in antioxidants, which can improve menopause-related symptoms as well. Since Relizen is hormone-free, it’s considered safe compared to a treatment like hormone replacement therapy.
What’s to Like?
- Relizen is a hormone-free approach to menopause relief.
- Most HSA and FSA accounts can be used to cover the cost of Relizen.
- There are no known drug interactions when using Relizen.
- This is an affordable approach to taking care of your body during the transitional period of menopause.
What’s Not to Like?
- It can take up to three months to see the full effect of Relizen.
- Some people have experienced side effects when first starting Relizen. This includes headaches, GI upset and irritability.
- Bonafide claims that Relizen doesn’t interact with other medications and supplements, but there is the potential that Relizen affects your serotonin levels. If you’re already taking a medication that affects your serotonin levels, you should check with your doctor before starting Relizen.
- There are other Bonafide products that you may also need to use to address issues like vaginal dryness or discomfort.
Pricing and Purchase Options
Relizen can be purchased directly from the Bonafide website. The current cost for a single bottle of product that contains a 30-day supply is $57. Bonafide offers a three-month plan that drops the cost to $37 per bottle. This is a practical option to consider. Not only does it save you money, but Bonafide explains that it may take three months for this product to reach its full potential.
Provitalize at a Glance
Provitalize Probiotic by the Better Body Company claims that it can support a woman’s body during the transitional period of menopause, reducing symptoms like weight gain, hot flashes, night sweats and even inflammation. It contains a few different strains of probiotics, along with natural ingredients like turmeric, curry leaf and curcumin. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information available regarding this specific blend of ingredients and how effective it may be for alleviating menopause-related symptoms.
Provitalize ingredients are encapsulated in the Better Body Company’s trademarked DRCaps. This ensures that all of the ingredients survive the journey to your gut so they can be properly absorbed. Black pepper extract has also been added to increase the bioavailability of the other ingredients.

- Provitalize really touches on a lot of the commonly experienced symptoms that women encounter during menopause. This includes weight gain, hot flashes, bloating and even joint pain.
- This product can be used during different stages of menopause, such as perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause.
- Provitalize claims it can balance your hormones naturally, providing substantial relief.
- There’s no added fillers or artificial ingredients in Provitalize.

- It can take Provitalize two to three months to fully work as well.
- It’s recommended that you take this product immediately upon waking up in the morning, but it can cause a bit of stomach upset if you don’t take it with food.
- It’s a pretty expensive product.

Comparing Real Women’s Reviews and Experiences
Relizen currently has a four-out-of-five-star rating on the Bonafide website. There are over 550 positive reviews listed. A lot of the women who reviewed this product turned to Relizen because of how natural and safe it is compared to hormone-based therapies. While there seem to be a number of women who didn’t find this product helpful, those who stuck with using it daily for a few months saw the best results. Quite a few women seem to have experienced some degree of relief in a shorter period of time.
Relizen is being recommended by a number of medical professionals as a safer alternative to hormone replacement therapy. After many women have suffered through unpleasant and downright uncomfortable symptoms for years, taking this supplement for a few months before turning to a more drastic treatment option seems to be worth the risk.
Provitalize has a 4.8-star rating out of 5 stars on the Better Body Company website. There are over 2,200 positive reviews listed. The most commonly experienced benefits from this product include more energy, appetite control, better weight management and decreased hot flashes and night sweats. A lot of women have tried many other products and supplements before turning to Provitalize, not finding the support that they needed.
There are negative reviews listed on the Provitalize website that express that some women didn’t experience any substantial benefits when using this product. There are some Provitalize users who literally didn’t experience anything. However, we don’t know how long they tried using it before giving up.
Comparing Pricing: What’s the Better Value?
Relizen is the more expensive product of these two options. If you’re just looking for a one-time purchase, you’ll pay $57 for a one-month supply of Relizen. A one-month supply of Provitalize is currently priced at $49. However, you get a more unique blend of ingredients when you use Relizen. If you’re intrigued by the potential benefits of the pollen in Relizen, it’s worth the investment. Regardless, paying less than $60 per month for menopause relief is affordable compared to what you might pay if you had to obtain one or more prescriptions from your doctor. When you’re trying to treat things that affect different areas of the body (metabolism, sweating, fatigue, etc.), this can sometimes require different medications. You get everything that you need in one bottle of Relizen.
Main Differences Between Provitalize and Relizen
The formulations stand out as the biggest difference between Provitalize and Relizen. There are drastically different ingredients included in each of these products. Because of this, you’ll need to consider what you’re trying to treat regarding your menopause symptoms and what ingredients you think are going to be most beneficial.
Provitalize really seems to focus on weight management, though they do reference other menopause-related symptoms such as hot flashes, sweating, fatigue and mood changes. Relizen seems to take a more whole-body approach to supporting the female body during the transitional period of menopause.
Which is Better for Menopause Relief: Relizen or Provitalize?
Relizen appears to be the better option if you’re looking for a product that can help you address all of your menopause symptoms in one dose. Most women experience multiple issues during the years of this transition. You can use this product throughout the perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause time periods to reduce symptoms such as fatigue, hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, irritability and sleep issues. Relizen claims that 75% of women experienced less hot flashes by month 3 of using this supplement, 68% percent experienced less night sweats and 88% of women already using Relizen plan on continuing their use of it.
